Charging Your iPhone 6

Charging Your iPhone 6

Many people love the iPhone 6 because of the many different apps it has and the things they can do with it. But when the battery starts to run down, it can lead to panic if you don’t have a source of power and your charger with you. Fortunately, there are a number of different ways you can charge the iPhone 6. If your iPhone needs some juice, here are your options.

Wall Charger Adapter

One interesting shift in phone technology overall in recent years has been to replace the wall charger with an adapter that you plug your USB charger into. This means you can use the same power cable to charge your iPhone 6 on your computer and from an electrical outlet as long as you have the adapter to plug it into.

These wall chargers come in a number of different options. Some are designed as quick chargers and will charge your phone very quickly. Some have several USB ports on them, allowing you to charge multiple devices at once as long as you have several cables.

Charging Cables

If all you have is a charging cable, you can still recharge your iPhone but it may not be as easy as finding a wall outlet. You can use this cable to charge your phone from a laptop or tablet, but it will drain the batteries in those devices. If you have a charging cable for your laptop, this isn’t a problem. You may also find that some new outlets have USB ports built into them. While these aren’t commonplace quite yet, they are becoming more popular since it allows for charging devices without an adapter.

Power Ports

Power ports are small USB hubs that plug into outlets. They’re similar to wall charger adapters, but these iPhone 6 accessories allow you to charge five or more devices at once. While some people do take their power ports with them when they travel, many set these small devices up on their desk or nightstand and leave them there. They use them to keep their devices, including their iPhone, iPad, and other electronics, charged during the day or to power them up overnight. They aren’t quite as portable, but being able to charge multiple devices easily is a benefit.

Power Banks

Because the iPhone 6 does not have a removable battery, it’s not possible to pop open the case and put in a fully-charged replacement battery while you’re on the go. If you don’t have any other way of plugging your iPhone in to charge, you can use a power bank. Power banks are basically small batteries that you have to charge up beforehand. They charge off a standard USB cable so you can charge them from a computer, a wall adapter, or a power port. Power banks can hold their charge for days, and many can charge up your iPhone several times or multiple iPhones once each. All you have to do is plug your charging cable into the power bank. You should double check the charge on your power bank before you need it, though, to make sure it’s still at full power.
